Phillip is an authorised Legal Practitioner (Part II) with rights of audience in the Courts of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) but not the Courts of the UAE.

He accepts instructions to give written advice and assistance and to appear before the DIFC Courts and before arbitral tribunals in the DIFC. He has acted for an investor in off-plan property purchases the deposit of which was made under a debtor-creditor-supplier agreement. He has also acted in relation to a number of shareholders dispute centred in Dubai but involving investor companies in the Middle East, Africa and the Asia Pacific region.

The rules of procedure of the DIFC Courts are substantially similar to those of the Courts of England and Wales (the Civil Procedure Rules). Phillip has a working knowledge of the Rules of the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) and accepts instructions to appear before arbitral tribunals of DIAC.

Dubai is a significant regional hub for commerce in the Asian and African emerging markets.
